Born near Lewiston, Montana of a pioneer ranch family. Spent 24 winters in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Professional photography career started in 1985. Prior to 1980 was a college English professor.

EDUCATION: M.A. in English Literature, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL

AWARDS: Inductee, National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame 1995
